Suka Malaysian Food – Sanderson Hotel
Summer 2012 will always be remembered as the “adventures of d and le” every week we was out at gigs, bars, and events. Drinking bottles of wine and slipping cocktails, we were all over London attending every event and party.
The second time I was invited along to the Sanderson hotel, we decided to dine outside the astonishing open air Japanese inspired garden. The courtyard garden itself boasts flowering trees, fountains and mosaics. Let it become your private sanctuary, to relax, kick back and enjoy the surroundings.
Suka at Sanderson offers an authentic Malaysian culinary experience inspired by the home-cooked treats of their contributing Malaysian Chef. The menu is served in typical Asian sharing style ranging from home cooked style to the truly elegant and luxurious.
On the day, the waiter told us that for a short while there was western food to choose from. Being the typical London bred that I am I went to pick triple cooked chips for sides. The two most adorable heniz pots arrived, the dinky pots was so cute. Miss D picked tofu goreng for starters.
For mains I went for a Nyonya kari Laksa, the dish is served in either a bowl of rice or noodles. I’m more of the noodle lover. The dish arrived Luke warm, with a rich coconut soup base. The pond of the sunset orange filled the bowl to the rim. The both were light, rich in colour, aromatic and had just enough coconut milk. Garnishes from carrots, to peppers placed on top; there were very few seafood elements, overall a perfect light dinner for long summer nights.
The satay chicken was good, although the serving was small, two sticks for £10.
What better way to enjoy the outdoor botanical garden then washing the food down with lovely cocktails. So delicious.
